About Jack

I have been playing clarinet and saxophone for 21 years now. I was taught by a well-renowned clarinet teacher, Sarah Masters, when I studied Music with Drama at the University of Huddersfield, where I learnt to really fine-tune my technique. I learnt to apply further discipline when I was taught by Andrew McCullough, who relayed some of the methodology he had learned when studying in Vienna. In 2014 I achieved my grade 8, the following year I received my diploma in music from the University of Huddersfield and in 2019 I was awarded a 2:1 in Actor Musicianship from Mountview Academy. I'm able to relay an excellent wealth of experience to my students and encourage them to have joy in their playing and in persevering with their craft. My previous and current students have been highly satisfied by the quality of my teaching.

About the lesson

I teach students of all abilities, be it simply for pleasure or to achieve grades. I have helped multiple students achieve their ABRSM grades. When teaching clarinet and saxophone, by encouraging students to make good technique habitual, I'm able to help students achieve greater tone and musicality. I'm efficient in how I plan lessons, adapting each lesson plan to help the student get the most out of their playing. If you're just starting out, send me a message and I can help advise you on instruments to buy and books to begin with. I'm DBS checked and have taught students of all ages. I cannot recommend Jack enough for clarinet lessons. Before Covid Jack would come to our home and teach our son. He was always punctual and professional. During Covid we continued the lesson via zoom and he was still able to give quality clarinet lessons with our son excelling into grade 5. He’s an excellent teacher.
