About Charles
Hi!
My name is Charles. I'm a professional visual and performing artist based in NYC. I received my bachelor's in Art and Sociology from Fisk University and later attended The Ailey School (the official school of The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater) before starting my professional dance career.
I currently work with MindLeaps, an organization designed to teach life skills (one of the skills being Language) through dance to at-risk youth. I'm also an Art Market Studies Master's student at The Fashion Institute of Technology.
Working and teaching children most of my life, I aim to make learning fun and geared to the specific interests of the students I work with. My life is driven by the arts and culture/travel and I love language as a result (they all go hand in hand). Because of this, I have begun to learn Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, and ASL.
