About Yamilex
Hello! My name is Yamilex Hernandez, and I would love to be your Algebra or Geometry tutor.
I am a proud graduate of UTRGV, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. After graduating, I pursued a career in secondary education in Houston, Texas, teaching Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry.
I understand that math can feel intimidating for many students, but I have always found beauty in it. Growing up, I moved back and forth between the United States and Mexico, and keeping up with my classes was often challenging due to language barriers. Through all those transitions, one thing remained constant: numbers. Math became a language I could always rely on, and it gave me confidence when other subjects felt difficult.
Because of my own experiences, I understand the importance of having a patient and supportive teacher. My goal is to help you feel comfortable with math, build confidence in your abilities, and develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. I want you to see that math is not just something we learn in the classroom—it is all around us, every day.
Whether you need help mastering Algebra, understanding Geometry, or simply gaining confidence in your skills, I am here to support you every step of the way.
