About Rosie

Hey there! I'm Rosie! I'm so happy to meet you here! I am a native Chinese speaker from Beijing. I enjoy talking to people from different cultural backgrounds.

Since I graduated from university, I've been involved in business development for overseas projects for over 8 years, which gets me to know the cultures of different countries. I also hold a Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, so I always helped local friends prepare for the HSK Chinese proficiency test. The experience taught me patience and how to communicate with learners effectively.

And for now, I'm a travel blogger. I have traveled to over 200 cities in 38 countries across 6 continents, possibly including your country, I think. And I also want to spread Chinese culture through social media. I think that language is not just a tool for communication but also a bridge between cultures.

When it comes to my history of cultural exchange, it all started in the summer of 2012. I was 19 years old at that time, and I had a valuable opportunity to take part in a cultural exchange program in the United States. I work alongside colleagues and students from all over the world. I realized that cross-cultural communication requires us to step out of our comfort zones, gather courage, and communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds. This opportunity allowed me to explore cultural differences and sparked my passion for travel and cultural exchange. I also had a chance to teach those foreign friends, who were interested in Chinese culture, to learn oral Chinese. It was a fun unforgettable memory.

And after that, I had multiple international volunteering experiences. I participated in Mother House India in my gap year in 2016. I taught the children who could not attend school due to the earthquake to study English and Chinese, at Nepal's Everest base camp transit station. I volunteered as a bilingual teacher in Kenya and Tanzania in Africa in 2019. This experience fueled my passion for cultural exchange even more. I believe I will be a passionate educator from now on.

About the lesson

Hi！My teaching approach is tailored to your level, objectives, and your interest in the language. if you are a beginner, we usually start with Pinyin and daily expression. But if you have already learned some Chinese and desire to dig deeper, you can tell me what level you want to achieve before we start, and I will personalize a plan to meet your goals.

Also, I’d like to create a relaxed and cheerful classroom atmosphere, your experience will be more enjoyable if you feel relaxed. I hope we can be friends. We can discuss, communicate, and share life together, such as food, travel, et cetera.

Basically, we will focus on your pronunciation and conversation skills, if you want to improve in other parts, like writing, listening, or desire to acquire a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, please let me know.
