About Jason
I am a committed saxophone tutor with 11 years of experience working with college students. My teaching philosophy is based on patience, clarity, and steady improvement. I focus on helping students understand music deeply while enjoying the learning process.
My lessons cover tone quality, breath management, finger technique, rhythm control, and performance preparation. I combine structured exercises with creative activities such as improvisation to keep lessons interesting. Real-world music examples help students connect practice with actual playing.
I use innovative teaching tools including recording reviews, play-along practice, and structured learning plans. I also teach music theory, ear training, and sight-reading to support overall musical development.
Whether your goal is stage performance or personal enjoyment, I provide consistent guidance and support to help you grow as a confident saxophone player.

My Saxophone teaching methodology is designed to support students with structure, creativity, and responsibility. I aim to create a friendly and focused learning environment where students feel comfortable and confident. Lessons begin with essential techniques such as breath support, tone production, embouchure formation, finger coordination, articulation, and reading music.
Creativity is encouraged through improvisation exercises, melody exploration, and learning music from different styles. I act as a mentor by providing motivation, honest feedback, and practical guidance. I help students develop confidence and a positive attitude toward learning music.
Critical thinking is developed by teaching students to understand rhythm patterns, scales, and musical structure instead of memorizing notes. Accountability is built through planned practice schedules, progress tracking, and regular reviews. In addition to Saxophone, I also teach Music Theory, Sight Reading, Ear Training, and Performance Skills to help students grow as complete musicians.
