About Elizabeth
I am a member of the Yale class of 2024 double majoring in Intensive Physics and Spanish. At Yale, I am currently researching Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN), which are extremely luminous supermassive black holes at the centers of active galaxies. After undergrad, I plan to attend grad school with the goal of eventually becoming a physics professor at a university.
I love teaching and have years of experience privately tutoring high school, junior high, and elementary school students. I have worked with many students on a variety of subjects, including physics and math class support and standardized test preparation.
I have also tutored as part of my high school's student tutoring program, which allows students who have excelled in classes to help those currently enrolled. At the end of high school, I helped found a platform that connected students in my community with affordable tutoring from myself and my classmates.

Hi! I'm Elizabeth Welch-Jani, a physics student in the Yale class of 2024. I am currently researching a class of black holes called Active Galactic Nuclei with Yale Astrophysics Professor Meg Urry.
I love tutoring and have worked with high school, junior high, and elementary school students in all subject areas, with a focus on math and physics. My practice aims to supplement what they are learning in school by working through homework and study materials and preparing for in-class assessments. My goal is to ensure that students fully understand the material they are learning in school.
I earned a 36 on the ACT and was named a National Merit Semifinalist in September 2019, and I have years of experience helping students improve their scores on standardized tests. I also got perfect scores on the Math Level 2 and Physics SAT Subject Tests and could tutor in either of those areas.
I'd love to work with you to help you achieve your goals!
