About Charollen
Music lives in the ear. Learning comes from listening to the sound before the hand moves. My 13 years of experience include a Certificate in Traditional Music from the Old Town School of Folk Music. I work with advanced players and hobbyists who want to play with more freedom.
Listen closely. Ornamentation is mastered by imitating the masters of the craft. My teaching approach centers on developing a natural posture and hold that feels right.

You want to find your own voice on the violin. We focus on rhythm and timing as the heartbeat of every piece. Mastery of spiccato and staccato bowing gives you control over the atmosphere of your music.
Scales and arpeggios keep your fingers agile for complex double stops. My degree ensures you have the technical foundation required to play well. I share a monthly progress report with parents to track your growth. Your musical goals remain the center of our work together.
