About Blake
Hearing your own progress on a custom backing track changes how you approach the fretboard during practice. You start to hear the harmony shifting underneath your fingers as you experiment with lead lines. Sitting on my porch in San Juan, I often find that the guitar is just an extension of the voice. My degree from the University of Miami Frost provided the technical foundation, but 17 years of playing flamenco and Latin styles taught me the soul of the instrument.
I work with hobbyists, returning learners, and busy professionals who want to reclaim their musical voice. Whether we are discussing scales and modes or the nuance of electric technique, I rely on the deep traditions I grew up with. You will find that I emphasize the groove before the mechanics of lead guitar playing.
Tuning and maintenance are also central to my philosophy of care for the instrument. My approach relies on listening to what you want to play and finding the path that feels most natural for your hands and ears.
