About Rohit
I am Rohit, I've been playing the guitar since I was 12 years old. Growing up I was a very musical child, listening to bubblegum pop and boy bands as a preteen, to being obsessed with classic rock and punk rock, then being an elitist metalhead as a teen, to getting lost in the work of classical music, to learning about world music including bossanova, carnatic classical, jazz, blues, and soul, and rnb. I have developed a rich musical landscape that I truly embody within everything I play of my instruments.
I genuinely love music and I think you can learn anything you want to learn through curiosity and repetitive practice.
I've taught myself how to play guitar, have taken classical guitar lessons, taught myself how to play the piano, and record and produce music using DAWs. I also taught myself how to build simple electronic synth modules, software programming, got a masters in computer science, and now build software instruments and physically modelled synthesisers in my free time!
My life completely revolves around music in every aspect, and my favourite ever is meeting and sharing the joy of music with other aligned people!

Music comes first, then technique follows and then theory. I believe successful learning comes from honouring the joy you get from music itself, and technique is merely the means to fortify yourself in receiving that joy.
Right from our first lesson, I will learn what your personal music taste is and allow that to dictate your journey into learning the instrument.
I will give you all the essential tools you will need to figure out the chords or melodies to any song you want to learn.
I will also give you plenty of musical recommendations that align with your taste that will help you get better at the instrument.
Guitar, like any other skill in life, is learnable, teachable and enjoyable - and you needn't be scared of it. It is pure joy and meant to be experienced and expressed.
