About Thomas

Hi everyone, I'm a penultimate-year BSc Computer Science student at the University of Warwick, currently in my placement year as a Software Engineer at Siemens so I would love to take some spare time sharing my knowlege and experience. I would describe myself as a sociable, empathetic, and conscientious person. Regarding my academic achievement, I have attained A*A*A* in A level Maths, Further Maths, Physics in A level exams in June 2022 to help me secure an offer from Warwick. I have also obtained Gold prizes-Best in Year in UKMT Senior Maths Challenge 2020 and 2021, first place winner in University of Lincoln Mathematics Challenge 2020-21, and Gold Award for both Maths and Physics A Level in Brockenhurst College's annual STEM Awards sponsored by Chemicals Specialty company. So far, I have had over 8-month experience of delivering 1-1 online lessons in IGCSE Maths, Additional Maths, Physics, Computer Science; A-level Maths, Further Maths, Physics; IB Maths to young students in both English and Vietnamese. I'm very proud and humbled to receive highly positive feedback from students and parents regarding my teaching methodology, lessons delivery and knowledge depth. They have improved remarkably and achieved excellent results in their exams. Studying with me is not just about the subjects' materials but I will also help you with university, internship application tips, work-life balance advice and so on. I used to struggle in my study sometime so I really understand students' difficulties and want to support them wholeheartedly to overcome the challenges, see you soon in my lessons and we'll improve together!

About the lesson

My method of teaching is that I will use my solid understanding of the complex topics to unpack and explain terminologies in detail with graphs/diagrams/real-life analogy to ensure my students can visualise and absorb the fundamental knowldge inside out, thus they're able to re-explain themselves from scratch. I also set practice questions in incremental difficulty levels and let my students attempt as much as they can. Then I will guide them through challenging questions by hints and opening questions because to me, practicing is extremely crucial. When it comes to exams revision, I'm committed to support my students intensively with my plentiful resources of past papers. Look forward to welcoming you all to my lessons!
