About Tayshiana

Tayshiana started dancing at age four under the direction of Arranette Polite. Her skill set quickly began to increase as well as a love for her new found passion. This was celebrated when she received the first A5 Academy of the Arts dancer of the year award at the age of six. She continued to attend the academy in St. Martinville Louisiana, until she later relocated to San Diego California. Shortly after her move, Tayshiana was accepted into the San Diego School of Creative and Preforming Arts high school studying as a dance major. In attendance, She realized the dance world is much bigger than her small hometown and decided to seriously pursue dance as a career. S.C.P.A opened doors for Tayshiana as she performed repertoire from legends of the dance world such as; Donald Mckayle, Anna Sokolow, José Limón and Christopher Huggins. Tayshiana graduated in 2013 and immediately began working as a professional dancer booking an ensemble role for the Musical In The Heights with the San Diego Repertory Theater. In January 2014, she officially became apart of the Disney Cruise Line family as a performer, traveling internationally for the past five years.

In 2019 Tayshiana moved to New York City to pursue her dream as a dancer in professional company. Not long after, she became a part of a professional modern dance company called Carolyn Dorfman Dance. During the meantime if five hour rehearsal days Tayshiana would also audition for shows on Broadway like; MJ The Musical. Landing a traveling Variety act show touring the east coast right up until the Covid Lockdown.

Throughout Covid years Tayshiana merged her performance experience to teaching classes & choreography to ages ranged 4months-18yrs old. The settings over time varied from private/group home sessions, schools enrichment programs, dance studios, gymnastics gyms, and even birthday parties.

General breakdown of class structure; Introduction, warm up, center/across the floor technique, choreography (order subject to change depending on style of dance). Ages 6-18+
