About Alex
I am a second year physics student at the University of Birmingham where I am studying for a master's in Particle Physics. I finished secondary school with 8 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s, and finished A levels with 3 As in Maths, Physics and Biology. Besides academia, I enjoy going to the gym and playing sports such as rugby and football. I have a year of experience in private 1 to 1 tuition, as well as 14 months experience tutoring classes of up to 18 students. Alongside this I have completed a 3 week teaching internship for STEM subjects at a secondary school. In my summer break between first and second year I worked at an accountancy firm to get industry experience. I enjoy teaching because I understand how significant the right teacher is in a student's ability to grasp and understand new material, and if I can I would like to be that very person for my students.

My style of teaching is very personalised and works hand in hand with school teacher feedback to ensure students develop their weak points specifically. The workload will be flexible to ensure the students are well challenged without being overwhelmed. The key goal of my lessons is to ensure the students can replicate their working and reasoning if and when required, highlighted by their ability to complete their homework unassisted after the lesson is completed.
