About Kukku
My name is Kukku, I'm a first year undergraduate Psychology student at Cardiff university. Before A-levels, I had never felt confident in my academic abilities and felt that I Iacked the basic skills needed to achieve good grades. I did not know how to revise or how to focus on one task meaning that I fell behind my peers in terms of learning. However, nearing my GCSE exams, I set myself the challenge of turning things round and used the pressure of exams as motivation to study. Although, looking back, I would have not used the same revision methods, it was a great start to where I wanted to head. I managed to pull through with 7s/8s which was much higher than my predicted grades which were 4s/5s. I had proved to myself that with hard work and concentration, I had the power to achieve whatever grades I wanted. Knowing this, I approached A-levels with much greater confidence in my abilities and saw this as another challenge to prove myself. Throughout the 2 years, I spent time working out what techniques worked best for each subject and how to stay consistent with revision which helped me achieve an A* in sociology and an A psychology.

Progressing from average grades in GCSEs to A*s in A-level, I have trialed and errored various methods of learning to understand the ways of learning which are most effective. Although revision skills are crucial to achieving good grades, I willI work with my students to motivate them and help identify specific goals to work towards. By teaching foolproof techniques to help time management, organisation and focus, A*s will no longer feel unattainable.
