About Jessica

I am a veteran elementary school teacher. I have taught in the special education program for ten years. I love to create individualized learning experiences for students based around their specific learning styles. I have training in many reading and math programs, such as Orton Gillingham (Wilson and Spire,) Everyday Math, Really Great Reading, Number Worlds, Handwriting Without Tears, and many others. I am capable of designing programming to support these techniques.

I am certified to teach elementary general education and K-8 special education. I have endorsments in K-8 Reading and K-8 English/Language Arts.

I have always wanted to share my love of learning with others, so I began working as a special education associate. I enjoyed this work immensely, so I pursued my degree in teaching while I maintained my full-time job as an associate. Upon graduation I began working as a special education teacher. I have worked in the same district for ten years.

I am an experienced elementary school teacher. This will be my eleventh year teaching sopacial education. I have training in many educational programs and can design instruction to supplement these: Orton Gillingham programs Wilson and Spire

About the lesson

I like to begin my work with a brief student interview to help me determine how a student learns, their interests and preferences, and their strengths as a learner. If needed, I may administer placement tests to get a better idea of the student's specific needs.

I have worked with students with a wide variety of skills and needs. I have had students on the autism spectrum, students diagnosed with dyslexia, students with behavioral issues, and many other learning needs.
