About Mansoor
A SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO CHESS MASTERY
Hi! I’m a competitive chess player with 5 years of coaching experience. I hold an official FIDE rating of 1858 and a peak Chess.com rating of 2307.
MY METHODOLOGY: "LEARNING HOW TO LEARN"
I specialize in teaching based on the principles of ‘Learning how to Learn’. I apply the science of meta-learning—specifically the DSSS framework (Deconstruct, Select, Sequence, Stakes) and the See-Do-Feedback model—to distill the game into its most high-impact components. This ensures you spend 100% of your study time on the materials that actually move the needle.
Whether you're making your first move or pushing for 2000+ on Chess.com, I will help you build a professional foundation and skip the rating plateaus.
WHAT I HELP YOU MASTER:
Advising how to learn.
Game Analysis.
Technique of calculating variations.
Endgame technique.
Evaluating a chess position.
Making a plan in a chess position.

LESSON TYPES
I offer standard one-time sessions, which include game analysis, positional evaluation, etc. (Recommended for most players) or structured roadmaps.
These roadmaps begin with a CORE INITIAL SESSION, followed by OPTIONAL FOLLOW-UPS tailored entirely to your pace. I recommend a two-week gap between follow-up sessions to allow for deep independent study—ensuring every follow-up is spent course-correcting your specific weaknesses.
A full roadmap of CURATED STUDY MATERIALS will be discussed in the initial session so that you can reach your goal with or without further follow-up sessions.
• FOUNDATION SPRINT (0–1000): 3-month roadmap focusing on blunders, basic tactics, strategy, and endgames.
• MASTERY ROADMAP (1000–2000): 1-year roadmap using Yusupov’s 9-book series as the core foundation.
Whether you are looking for a one-off session or a longer mentorship to reach a particular rating milestone, I am happy to tailor the sessions to your needs.
FLEXIBILITY & PRICING
• NO BULK PURCHASES: Pay-per-class only. You only pay for completed sessions.
If you are unsure whether the classes are right for you, I encourage you to take the free trial session before making any commitment.
FREE TRIAL SESSION
A full diagnostic class (~60 minutes) to help you decide. I will:
• Evaluate your recent games.
• Analyze key positions with you.
• Share the core roadmap of materials.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
He has a deep understanding of the game and explains difficult concepts extremely well.
I know Manzoor through Chess.com and Lichess, where I first experienced his exceptional planning ability and deep understanding of the game. He consistently impressed me with his sharp positional awareness and remarkable memory.
When he trained me, he was able to recall mistakes I made even 4–5 games earlier and would clearly explain them move by move, starting from the opening. His analytical approach is precise and structured, which helped me understand not just what was wrong, but why it was wrong.
What makes him stand out as a teacher is how quickly he identifies a student’s strengths and weaknesses—often within just one or two games. He then recommends targeted puzzles, books, and practical exercises tailored to improve those specific areas. He also generously shares high-quality study materials to support consistent progress.
I strongly recommend him not only for his chess strength, but also for his personality. He teaches with patience and clarity, never gets bored, and never becomes frustrated—even when the same mistakes are repeated. His teaching style builds confidence and makes learning enjoyable.View more recommendations
