Hello!
I'm Matthew, currently studying Accounting in university. I am looking for some income to cover my daily expenses. I enjoy serving in kid-related ministries and have some experience leading youth! I am also confident in my primary and secondary math and sciences and had consistent grades throughout those years. I believe it is most important for a tutor to prioritize establishing a safe learning environment, in order for students to be comfortable with making mistakes and wanting to learn from them, ultimately building their confidence and independence. After that, I would like to focus on shifting their mindset from asking “how?”, to “why?”. This encourages deeper thinking and shows them that school syllabuses are only the gateway to so many complex and intriguing topics, in hopes that they will be able to find something they are passionate about. Finally, but not by any means unimportant, students must learn to set goals by themselves, exercise self-regulation and independent study skills in order to thrive in the years ahead and in other areas besides studies.
