About Amelie
I am a classically-trained piano student with over 10 years of experience. I have completed the grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Canada exams with honours and I am currently studying the ARCT certificate program.
I have been teaching and tutoring for a year now, with very happy students! I love sharing my passion for music through inspiring others. I offer fun and interactive music lessons for children ages 4-14.
I am happy to combine theory and practical piano for beginner students, or have the student choose what they would like to learn! I teach/tutor beginner/intermediate theory as well as self-accompaniment and basic songwriting. I would love to help you learn songs of your preferred genre (i.e. blues/jazz/pop/classical) that are tailored to your level. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced piano player, I would be very happy to help you improve.
During these unprecedented times, I began to offer virtual lessons through an online platform of your choice (i.e. Skype, Zoom) and I have developed effective methods of teaching/tutoring a musical instrument online.

I base my classes on the student's level, as well as their interests. Music lessons should be beneficial, but they should also inspire a student's love for music! Whether you are interested in learning to play a song you like, learning to write your own or accompanying yourself, I would love to assist you on your journey of musical exploration. My approach to teaching theory, which is a basis for all beginner to intermediate students, can vary based on the student's needs. However, I like to teach it from a practical and clear perspective in order to be able to apply the knowledge in piano study.
