About Charmen
"You will find that learning guitar is much less about rigid theory and more about finding your own internal groove. Many students start off thinking they must strictly follow complex diagrams to succeed. I use my academic background to simplify the complex parts of rhythm and lead guitar playing. My approach includes a monthly recorded review of your progress so you can actually hear how your skills shift over time.
I focus on keeping things light and moving forward while respecting the tradition of the Cuban son style. Let me know when you are ready to play."

"After 13 years of gigging across the Australian Latin music scene, I have developed a deep rhythmic feel for the fretboard. I am a guitarist who holds a Diploma of Music from JMC Academy.
My teaching practice serves everyone from young kids just starting out to advanced performers refining their technique. Returning players often come to me to shake off the rust and get back to making music. I handle electric technique and fingerpicking as easily as I explain the mechanics of ear training or reading tabs.
Whether you need help with grade exam prep or basic maintenance for your instrument, I am here to help. I genuinely enjoy the process of sharing what I know with the Latin diaspora community and beyond. It is quite simple to get started if you feel like picking up the guitar today."
