About Priyal

Hi! I’m Priyal, an Alberta Certified Teacher and University of Alberta Bachelor of Education graduate, with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Chemistry.

I have over five years of tutoring experience working with students from elementary school through university. I also have classroom teaching experience, which allows me to connect tutoring with the Alberta curriculum and understand the challenges students commonly face in school.

I offer personalized Math tutoring in algebra, functions, polynomial functions, trigonometry, and more. Whether you need help with Math 30-1, Math 30-2, or elementary mathematics, I tailor lessons to your learning needs and academic goals.

I believe that every student can learn Math when concepts are explained in a way that makes sense to them. My goal is not simply to help students get the correct answer, but to help them understand why the answer is correct.

About the lesson

My lessons are personalized to each student's grade level, current understanding, and goals.

Depending on what you need, a lesson may include:

Identifying and filling learning gaps

I encourage students to ask questions and explain their thinking. This helps me identify exactly where they are struggling and allows us to focus the lesson where it will be most useful.

My tutoring rate is $45/hour.

Each lesson is personalized to the student's grade level, course, and learning goals. The hourly rate includes preparation, explanations, guided practice, and personalized feedback during the lesson.

Lesson options:

30-minute lessons for quick review or younger students
60-minute lessons for regular tutoring and focused practice
90-minute lessons for more advanced topics, exam preparation, or multiple concepts

I recommend 60-minute lessons for most students, as they provide enough time to review concepts, practice questions, and address questions without feeling rushed.

For students who want ongoing support, weekly lessons can help maintain consistency and build understanding over time.
