About KC
I’m a Biology Teaching Associate at the University of Washington with experience teaching college-level biology labs, along with a background in healthcare and curriculum development. I’ve worked with high school, Running Start, pre-nursing, and college students in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Microbiology.
My teaching style is hands-on and adaptive—I focus on breaking concepts into clear, connected steps and working through problems together until things start to click. I pay attention to where students get stuck and adjust the approach so they can move forward with more clarity and confidence.

I am a Biology Teaching Associate at the University of Washington with experience teaching college-level biology labs and supporting students in Anatomy & Physiology and other STEM courses. My background also includes a decade of healthcare experience and curriculum development, giving me a strong foundation in both the science and how students learn it.
My approach is straightforward and flexible: we slow things down, break concepts into clear steps, and focus on understanding how everything connects rather than memorizing isolated details. Sessions are tailored to what each student is currently working through, whether that’s lectures, labs, or exam prep.
What sets me apart is my experience actually teaching biology at the university level. I understand the expectations of college STEM courses and the common sticking points students run into, and I know how to guide them through it in a way that builds confidence as well as competence.
