About Harkirat Singh
I am a Bachelor of Advanced Computing (Honors) student at the Australian National University, currently studying on the ANU Chancellor’s International Scholarship. My academic journey has always been driven by a fascination with how things work—whether it’s a complex mathematical proof or the backend logic of an AI model.
Outside of my own studies, I have a strong background in leadership and professional tech environments. I previously co-founded a streetwear brand where I built automated data systems, and I’ve worked as an AI Intern for Volkswagen Group Digital Solutions. These experiences have taught me that the most important skill in any field is the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
I choose to tutor because I find it incredibly rewarding to see that "lightbulb moment" when a student finally grasps a concept they’ve been struggling with. Having achieved a 93.5% in my senior schooling and being a "Scholar Tie" recipient, I understand the pressure students face. I aim to be more than just a teacher; I strive to be a mentor who helps students develop the discipline and logic needed to succeed in their own academic and professional careers.
When I’m not studying or tutoring, you’ll likely find me researching Hybrid VAE-GANs for Zero-Shot Learning or exploring the latest trends in tech consulting and AI.

My Teaching Style - I don’t believe in just giving students the answers. My goal is to help you understand the logic behind the problem so you can solve it yourself next time. Coming from an Advanced Computing background at ANU, I’m used to breaking down very complex technical ideas into simple, manageable steps.
In a typical session, we start by identifying the "blocker", the specific part of a concept that isn’t clicking, and then work through practical examples. Whether it’s a tricky Calculus derivative or a bug in your Python code, I focus on building your confidence so that STEM subjects feel less intimidating and more like a puzzle you’re equipped to solve.
My Background & Experience - I am a current ANU Chancellor’s International Scholarship student pursuing my Honors in Advanced Computing. I have a lot of hands-on experience in the education space:
Professional Tutoring: I have worked extensively as a private academic tutor in Canberra, specifically teaching the Australian curriculum (Years 7-12).
High Academic Standards: I achieved a 93.5% in my own senior schooling (CBSE) across Physics, Chemistry, and Math, so I know exactly what it takes to excel in high-pressure exams.
Tech Expertise: Beyond just school-level math, I am an undergraduate researcher in AI and have professional experience with Python, Java, and SQL.

Lesson Details
Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I’m happy to do longer 90-minute sessions if we are diving deep into a specific project or cramming for an upcoming exam. I prefer online interactive sessions but am flexible for travel around Canberra
