About Leandro

I am an Architect and Urban Designer currently pursuing a master's degree in Architectural Design. I have eight years of experience teaching architecture software, languages, and mathematics. My teaching method is practical, and there will be assignments to be carried out independently in between classes. During the lessons, the understanding of architectural design unveils itself at every stage; the same is expected of complementary projects' technical representation. Helping students increase their production speed, and their hourly wages is the primary goal.

  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

I first encountered computers through a Windows manual I found among my father's books when I was a child. Since my mom sometimes wouldn't let me play outside, I spent that time reading my dad's books. He was finishing school at the time, and those moments introduced me to technology in a curious and unexpected way.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

The rise of smartphones has been the most impactful technological evolution for me. In just a few years, they became accessible to people of all ages and income levels, transforming how we live and communicate. Looking ahead, I believe the Internet of Things (IoT) will be the next major revolution. When everything is interconnected, and we can control devices seamlessly through our phones, it will redefine convenience and efficiency in everyday life.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

I began using AutoCAD in 2008 during high school and technical training in civil construction. My fascination with architecture and construction turned AutoCAD into a hobby, where I enjoyed redrawing plans and exploring creative possibilities. Over time, I mastered precise technical drawing, creating patterns based on industry standards. In architecture school, I realized AutoCAD's versatility-it's not just for precise technical work but also a foundation for laser-cut or CNC projects and professional, visually appealing humanized blueprints. Its importance lies in its ability to bridge creativity with precision, making it an invaluable tool in design and engineering.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

I admire these visionaries for their ability to empathize and understand what people need-even before people knew they needed it. Their foresight and innovation created groundbreaking products that changed the world. For me, they are a reminder of the importance of observing human behavior and designing solutions that truly add value.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I don't recall a specific episode, but during classes, students often laughed at themselves when they realized how hard it was to break old habits and adapt to more efficient ways of using the computer. It was a great reminder that unlearning ingrained methods is just as important as learning new ones-and often the key to working smarter.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I align with the thesis of American historian and sociologist Richard Sennett, who said, "To do is to think." Most of what I know, I learned by doing and allowing myself to make mistakes. Mistakes are as valuable as successes because they teach us what not to do. With the right guidance-someone who lets you make common errors without feeling stuck or stressed-the learning process becomes smoother and less intimidating. My advice, though a bit clichéd, is: don't be afraid to make mistakes.
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

I enjoy studying languages, particularly Eastern ones, visiting contemporary art exhibitions, and spending time outdoors. Being outside, with nothing to think about or do, allows me to recharge and find inspiration in simplicity.
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

What sets me apart is the uniqueness of my personal journey-shaped by my culture, curiosity, interests, and empathy for others. While machines perform tasks because they're programmed to, I teach because I'm genuinely passionate about helping others grow. My ability to understand individual needs and adapt my teaching style ensures that each student receives a personalized, human-centered learning experience.
