Hello! I'm Arabella, an Art Education student who has been pursuing the arts ever since childhood. Although I primarily teach drawing and painting with a focus on realism, I am also educated on art forms such as digital art, ceramics, abstract art, and non-representational art, as well as art history. I believe that everyone of every age can create beautiful pieces! Sometimes they simply need to know the method behind it.
I provide my students with hands-on guidance through the practices and theories that artists use to achieve high-quality end-products. A typical lesson will start off with an assessment of the student's newest work, followed by an explanation of artistic concepts or methods that could benefit the student. The student will then be guided through the process of making as we focus on depicting an unexplored subject (flowers or birds, for example). At the end of each meeting, the work that the student produced within the session will be critiqued.
Although the word "critique" may be seen as intimidating, please do not fret! Critiques exist to serve as an opportunity for celebration and positive feedback on a journey towards improvement. While the areas that can be improved will be addressed and met with suggestions, the parts of a piece that demonstrate skill, understanding, creativity, and growth will be cherished!
