About Joseph

"I’ve recently completed my final year studying Mechanical Engineering at Aston University. Having achieved top grades in both Maths and Physics at A-Level, I’ve spent the last few years applying those exact fundamentals to complex, real-world engineering projects.

​I started tutoring because I know how frustrating it is when a teacher's explanation just doesn't click. I myself experienced this many times, until maybe a simple change of perspective or different explanation can flick that understanding switch on. My goal is to make technical topics intuitive, breaking them down step-by-step until the student has that 'lightbulb' moment.
Outside of academics and tutoring, I spend my time playing video games (some of my favourites include Hollow Knight, Hades, etc...), and I am also a beatboxer that competes competitively at a national level!

Hi, I'm Joseph! I've recently finished my degree studies at Aston University and specialise in tutoring GCSE and A-Level Maths and Physics. Having achieved an A in Maths* and an A in Physics, I know firsthand that these subjects aren’t about memorising endless steps—they're about spotting patterns and building problem-solving habits that stick under exam pressure.

Because I sat the modern exam specifications myself, the style of questions, tricky multi-step problems, and strict mark schemes are fresh in my mind. I help students who feel overwhelmed by abstract theory bridge the gap between "I understand it in class" and "I can solve it on my own on the exam paper."

How We’ll Work Together:

• Direct Concept Breakdowns: We strip away confusing textbook jargon and focus on the core logic behind topics like calculus, mechanics, or circuit analysis.

• Mark Scheme Strategy: We work through real past paper questions line-by-line so you learn exactly what examiners award marks for—and how to avoid dropping easy method points.
• Fixing Problem Areas: Instead of reviewing topics you already know, we spend the bulk of our time targeting specific roadblocks until they feel straightforward.
• Low-Stress Environment: No question is too basic. The goal is to build genuine confidence so you walk into exams without second-guessing yourself. Students experience more than enough stress in their day to day school lives, therefore I aim to create a comfortable space to learn together, instead of adding on more pressure.
