About Atticus
I want to get my learners to a point where they no longer need me. So I won't leave a student in the dust, just giving them the answer to a difficult problem on their homework without telling them why that is the answer. I want them to find out the why of an answer just as much if not more than the what. If a student is struggling, I don't belittle them for their mistakes, I praise where they went right and gently correct where they went wrong.

I focus not on giving my students answers to questions, but instead I try to teach them the academic thinking techniques to find answers themselves. At the start of a tutorial, I prefer the learner to come in with something they are genuinely confused about. Not only to act as a springboard to start our conversation, but to try and teach those academic thinking methods for solving that question and future ones like it on their own. I understand some of the struggles that come with being a learner on the spectrum, and thus feel I am able to help those in such circumstances. I am capable of tutoring from middle school all the way up to college level.
