About Laura
Well I had a teacher at A-level who was the definition of 'cool'.
We weren't allowed to start until everyone had their coffee, we'd had a good natter and we'd put the world to rights.
Our circle of 10 people felt like a uni class and we'd bounce ideas off one another for a solid hour every day.
There were arguments and occasional insults but none of us wanted to leave those lessons. Ever.
We had an opinion and a voice that became effortless to write down.
We all got A*.
I want to inspire those conversations to be had again and get people the grades they are more than capable of achieving.

Hey guys!
So 'award-winning' was dramatic and slightly egotistical, but not a lie.
Short and sweet:
I have always adored english and went on to win a reward at GSCE for my writing (there's a really cute picture of me with Ranulph Fiennes). This was followed by an A* at both GSCE and A-level.
Before university, I went to Australia for 6 months to teach Aboriginal children english literature; coming back to the uk to study journalism.
Long story short, I am now an actress, a career that incoprated my love of english literature, poetry and drama.
Techniques:
I focus mainly on discussions within my lessons as I believe that's what english is all about: opinion, interpretation and expression.
This is how I was taught and it helps to listen to other ideas and concepts in order to incorporate them into your written essays.
Plus you also learn to build resilience in your own stance as you are made to defend, describe and teach the other.
Essay structure lessons and feedback on work will also be regular.
