About Jayne
I am a flute tutor with 18 years of experience, having taught over 150 students of all levels. My lessons focus on combining technical mastery with creative expression. I help students develop breath control, tone, finger dexterity, and rhythm while encouraging improvisation and expressive performance.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s learning style and goals, ensuring steady progress in a motivating and enjoyable environment. I also provide guidance in sight-reading, music theory, and ensemble practice, helping students build a well-rounded musical foundation. My aim is to nurture confident, expressive, and passionate flutists.

I teach flute with a methodology centred on flexibility, collaboration, and positivity. I recognise that every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to their unique learning style, pace, and goals. This ensures lessons are engaging, effective, and inspiring.
Flexibility allows me to modify exercises, repertoire, and practice routines to match the student’s progress and musical interests. Collaboration is a key component: students participate in duets, ensemble practice, and group exercises to strengthen confidence, timing, and expressive skill. Positivity underpins every lesson, creating a motivating environment where students feel encouraged to experiment, take risks, and celebrate achievements.
Alongside flute instruction, I provide lessons in music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This comprehensive approach nurtures technical skill, artistic expression, and musical understanding, helping students develop into confident, versatile, and passionate musicians.
