About Emma
I've been a professional singer songwriter musician for 47 years and the labour of love progressed to doing a Bachelor Of Adult Education to pursue stability. All the experience in the arts, crafts, tikanga, society, business, humanitarianism, environment, Te Ao Maori, education, hauora and so on drew me towards giving what I have to offer for the people. I had done this through song. I want to share with you who care to know if they already don't know so the gift of creation we are all blessed with. Why not use this power of music; the arts and creativity to see you through all sorts.
In the 1990s I was nominated for Best Female Vocalist Award twice and won Best Songwriter Of the Year Award in the 1994 NZ Music Awards. Given the Mana Maori Award at the NZ Entertainer Of the Year Awards in 1997, more recently we were inducted into New Zealand's Music Hall Of Fame for work done with Upper Hutt Posse. For six years I was CEO of Auckland Music Services Ltd.

I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Education at the world's first Indigenous University in 2015. Nearly forty years ago I by accident first taught a class of flautists (they play the flute) because they'd been stood up by their teacher. I offered to teach them and it went well. I was far better than no teacher, lol.
My lesson proceeds with an initial assessment to know where we're at to know where to go. Learning spaces are not a dictatorship -- rather a facilitation in where the freedom to create enables your process to naturally engage. My teaching approach identifies cognitive ways that makes the way forward for you more achievable because everybody is different. It is unfair for me to take the wrong approach and to expect you to be what you are. I find that procedure is not one-sided - instead a trust for your advantage. I teach anyone who wants to give it a go. I encourage you to NOT underestimate yourself. Anyone can make a sound, and organise it.
Creativity is a buzz.
