About Gemma
I am a Bachelor of Education student and I am fluent in English and Afrikaans. I am passionate about teaching and helping students improve their English in a supportive environment.
I have experience working as a student teacher where I work with a group of diverse learners. I also assist with communication and learning support.
As a bilingual speaker I understand how difficult and stressful it can be to learn a new language, which is why I want to create a gentle, supportive environment where students are not afraid to make mistakes.

As a Bachelor of Education student I use a patient and relaxed approach when teaching English. I focus on building confidence through conversations as well as adapting lessons based on each student's goals.
I am proficient in English and Afrikaans and I can teach in both languages.
A typical lesson includes a warm-up conversation, the main topic which is either grammar or speaking, practice exercises and feedback. During lessons I will gently correct mistakes in a way that is natural and flows with the conversation.
My lessons are aimed at beginner and intermediate learners who want to improve their English speaking, grammar, and confidence.
