About Rai
Rai Castells - Guitar Summa Cum Laude is a graduate of Jazz Performance at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. There he received several scholarships such as the prestigious Elvin Jones Award (Berklee College of Music Performance Award) and the Berklee World Scholarship Tour. He has studied with musicians like George Garzone, Joe Lovano, Hal Crook, Mick Goodrick, Tim Miller, Joanne Bracken, among others. He has played with musicians such as Bill McHenry, Jeff Galindo, Robert Kaufman, Miguel 'Pintxo' Villar, Benet Palet, Martí Serra, Jordi Gaspar, Jordi Gardeñas, Marco Mezquida, Guim Garcia, Raynald Colom and Jon Robles. He is part of several musical projects like Rai Castells & Jordi Gardeñas, Rai Castells Quintet, Henderson Project, Wednesday Nispers, Gnawa Collective. He has collaborated in several recordings such as: Impros & Films (Led Junatment with Jordi Gardeñas), Aramateix, Big Band Vic, Jordi Boixadós (Role Play), Motorcycle Boy, Wednesday Nispers. Make professional studio recordings for international music studios. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of music teaching, teaching guitar, bass, improvisation, solfeggio, harmony and combo.
