About Johnette

Hi, I’m Johnette and I have over ten years teaching experience in bilingual, state and international schools. I've taught KS2 - A levels History and Geography, Humanities and English as a Foreign Language in classroom and online settings. I used to work in a secondary school in England and have a full DBS/ police check. I’m also a CIE History Assessment Specialist/ Assistant Examiner.

I'm offering tailored lessons to help you or your child learn History and/or Geography using various specifications (CAIE, IB, Edexcel International) as I have a thorough knowledge of the requirements for all of these. I can help you learn the content, give exam techniques or if you just want someone to chat with/ practice your oral English with! I'm available to mark exam papers for IGCSE- A levels History and Geography.

I have a proven track record including helping my students achieve the highest marks for Cambridge International Examinations IGCSE History in the whole of China and Malaysia (in June 2010, June 2016 and October 2022 examinations).

I enjoy teaching students of different ability levels, cultures and backgrounds and try to make lessons interesting for all my students. I also like to help students achieve their full academic potential and get them inspired about the world around them.

When I'm not teaching, I'm usually with my family (got two girls, 11 and 4 years old), going on local walks, exploring the moors, crafting or just chilling in front of the tv.

Pre-AP- AP (Advanced Placement).

I can help you learn the content topics, give exam techniques or help you improve your historical and geographical skills.

I also tutor English language learners from 6-12 years old. My lessons are interactive and fun with listening, reading, writing and speaking activities! My courses give children more vocabulary, more cross-curricular content, more language practice, and more resources than most primary courses.

Students will have opportunities to read, listen, talk about stories, sing songs and chants, play games, ask and answer questions. More skills development activities for speaking, reading and writing. More grammar practice. More support for Cambridge English: Young Learners; More opportunities to activate language; More opportunities for speaking; More reading text types; More writing support. There are extension activities which students can do in their own time (optional).

Details

Every lesson includes:

• A free 30 minute trial lesson
• A learning plan/ outline study
• Written feedback after every lesson (if required)
• Follow up homework tasks (if requested)
• There are extension activities which students can do in their own time (optional).

Cancellation policy: 24 hours cancellation is required for student and tutor.
