About Joe
Hello! I'm Joe, a 24-year old tutor with a first-class honours degree in Aerospace Engineering, now pursuing my master's. Having been tutored myself during A-Levels, I know just how transformative the right support can be. It not only boosted my grades but also my confidence, which is why I’m passionate about helping others achieve the same success.
Outside of university, I’ve spent four summers teaching sailing and windsurfing, which taught me how to communicate complex ideas clearly and connect with students of all ages. Additionally, helping my younger siblings with their studies has helped to hone my approach to tutoring others.
I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where you can build confidence and master even the most challenging concepts in GCSE and A-Level Maths. With a strong academic background and hands-on teaching experience, I’m here to help you succeed.

My approach to teaching is student-centered and adaptive, focusing on breaking down complex concepts into easily digestible parts. I use real-world examples to illustrate abstract ideas, ensuring that students not only understand the theory but also appreciate its practical applications. I believe in active learning, where students are encouraged to solve problems independently with guided support, building confidence and competence. Regular assessments and feedback are integral to my methodology, helping students track their progress and identify areas for improvement.
Each lesson is typically one hour long, but I am more than happy to adjust these to suit the student's needs. We will begin with a quick recap of previous material, followed by a focused session on the day's topic. Practice problems and interactive exercises will be a core part of the lesson to reinforce learning. I also provide tailored homework to reinforce the concepts covered in the session.
