Struggling to find the right fingerpicking hand position is quite common. To be honest, I spent years adjusting my own technique before it felt natural.
My approach is rooted in my 14 years of experience as a performer, ensuring we focus on stage-ready skills for any setting. Whether you are an absolute beginner or looking to sharpen your performance-focused technique, we will keep the pace energetic.
I emphasize how music theory serves your playing rather than slowing it down. We look at everything from music theory to electric technique with a focus on your personal growth. My persona is centered in the nueva trova tradition, so expect a little soul in every lesson.

Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Berklee, does your guitar practice feel like a chore? After teaching 279 students from kids to teens and absolute beginners, I have found that music thrives on groove. I grew up in Bogotá playing flamenco and Latin styles for 13 years, so I bring that specific rhythm to our acoustic and electric technique sessions.
We will explore blues progressions and strumming patterns in a way that keeps the momentum high. Music theory becomes clear when it is applied to the songs you love to play. It is quite rewarding to see a student find their own voice on the instrument. The energy of a good jam session is the best part of my week.
