About Charlotte
Holding a BFA Music Industry serves as the foundation for my approach to teaching piano today. I balance my time between playing gigs across New York and mentoring others. Over 9 years of experience have shaped how I share my craft with students. Working with absolute beginners, teens, and working professionals keeps my perspective fresh and grounded in reality.
My focus remains firmly on contemporary styles like pop, rock, singer-songwriter, and folk music. You can expect to cover dynamics, expression, sight transposition, and scales during our time together.
I also enjoy teaching memorization techniques alongside practical accompaniment skills for modern songs. Providing custom sheet music arrangements for songs students choose is a core part of how I work. This keeps the material relevant to your personal taste while we build technical proficiency. I like to keep things light and patient as we navigate the keyboard together.

Soft keys under your fingers hum with the sound of a well chosen chord progression. Making music should feel like an exciting project rather than a chore. We will use my BFA training to break down complex arrangements into manageable pieces.
I find that focusing on the songs you actually listen to makes the learning process stick much faster. You will quickly gain confidence in your ability to play and transpose pieces on the fly. Let us sit down and see what kind of music we can create in our first session.
