About David
I am a student at the University of Pittsburgh in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences dual majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology. I am currently in the process of a research proposal on how mitochondrial dysfunction affects neurodegenerative diseases. In high school I took all honors and APs. Not only did I take introductory biology and chemistry I took AP Biology and AP Chemistry scoring a 4 on the exams. I also took algebra 1, algebra 2, Precalculus, AP Calculus (4), anatomy, and AP Statistics (4).

The way I teach is first by asking what the student thinks they struggle with the most so I can target that area. I will then go over main ideas and key terms of the unit. I will go over practice problems explaining each step, and then have the student try one. We will review the practice problems and see what steps in the problem they have the most issues with. We will continue to fix the biggest issues until the student is fine-tuned. What sets me apart as a tutor is I am a college student and I still remember how high school courses are taught, and the tricks that my teachers taught me. I am also currently taking college courses in these areas that will make sure that my skills in these areas are always up to par. These lessons are primarily for middle school and high school students who are taking their introductory classes or AP classes in algebra, calculus, biology, or chemistry.
