My teaching methods are rooted in adaptability. I like to come up with a plan together that is based on your learning style. I like to start our sessions with an update of what you feel you know better and what still needs work. A typical session will begin with me helping you understand a topic better through explanation. I like to include as many examples as possible, and provide you with many opportunities to problem solve. I think it is beneficial that part of the session includes you explaining a topic to me in a role reversal. I strongly believe that teaching is the best way to really understand a topic. A session will end with a debriefing, where we can discuss what was learned, what still needs work, and what can be done in the time between sessions.
Hello! My name is Kira. For my undergraduate, I attended the University of Calgary where I completed a B.Sc. in biology and a B.Sc. in psychology. To follow, I moved my life overseas to Norway where I completed a M.Sc. in molecular biology and biochemistry at the University of Oslo.
