1. How do you know each other

She was my professor during my Master’s in Botany at Mount Carmel College. From our very first interaction, she had a remarkable ability to understand my personality and connect with me in a way that made me feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued as a student.

She is the kind of teacher every student hopes to have- knowledgeable, patient, approachable, and genuinely invested in her students’ growth.

Her concepts are exceptionally clear and precise. Whether she was explaining the minute details of a cell or taking us through the complexities of Genetics, she had a way of making even difficult topics feel approachable. She never made learning feel like a burden. Instead, she used real-life examples, encouraged interaction, and pushed us to engage with the subject rather than simply memorising it.

What truly sets her apart is her ability to recognise where a student is struggling and adapt her approach accordingly. She is hardworking, open-minded, and attentive to every student's individual learning journey. She never makes a student feel inadequate for getting something wrong; instead, she turns mistakes into opportunities to learn and grow.

3. Tell us about an experience you shared together ?

One experience that has stayed with me was during my Genetics classes. I had developed a genuine fear of the subject because I struggled with calculations, pedigree charts, and genetic crosses. I was also quite timid about asking questions, which made it even harder for me to overcome my difficulties.

She noticed this and took the time to sit with me and patiently work through the areas I was struggling with. She did not simply explain the concepts; she helped me understand the reasoning behind them. More importantly, she encouraged me to overcome my hesitation and become more vocal about my doubts.

That small but meaningful gesture had a lasting impact on me. She helped me develop the confidence to ask difficult questions instead of being afraid of making mistakes. She not only helped me understand Genetics better, but also helped me become a more confident and inquisitive person.

I wholeheartedly recommend her because she brings much more to teaching than subject knowledge. She brings patience, empathy, curiosity, and a genuine desire to see her students grow.

Her concepts are sharp, precise, and easy to understand, and she has the rare ability to make both theoretical and practical learning engaging. She pays attention to the smallest details in a student's performance and understands that every learner has a different pace and approach.

What I admire most is that she never looks down on students who struggle. Instead, she supports them, identifies where they need help, and encourages them to work towards improvement and excellence.

For me, she was more than a professor. She was someone who helped me overcome my fear of a difficult subject, encouraged me to question more freely, and taught me to approach learning with confidence. Under her guidance, studying never felt like a burden—it felt like a journey of discovery.

She is hardworking, interactive, supportive, and deeply committed to her students. I believe any student who gets the opportunity to learn from her will not only gain knowledge, but also develop the confidence and reasoning skills to become a better learner.

I had the pleasure of being taught by Dr. Priyanka during my M.Sc. days, and she is truly one of the best teachers I’ve had. Her explanations were always clear and backed by logic and reasoning, which made even difficult concepts easy to understand.

She was extremely approachable, helpful, and supportive, especially during our dissertation work. Her intelligence, kindness, and dedication to her students were truly inspiring. I was taught biology subjects like plant physiology and biochemistry by Priyanka ma'am.
