About Alex
Hi! I'm Alex, a Biomedical Engineering Ph.D. student with a passion for helping students build confidence in their math and science classes. I know firsthand that STEM subjects can be challenging, but I specialize in making difficult concepts click by matching your unique learning style. I love helping students bridge the gap between textbook concepts and real-world applications. Whether you are tackling mathematics, chemistry, biology, or physics my goal is to break down intimidating material into manageable, understandable pieces. When I'm not in the lab researching treatments for localized cell therapy delivery for cancer, I love staying active and exploring different hobbies. You can usually find me playing disc golf, cheering on my favorite sports teams, cooking up a new recipe, or spinning something from my vinyl record collection. I believe in the philosophy of helping students walk through problems so that way they can understand the necessary steps to help find a solution. When I teach my undergraduates I have them tell me what specific problems or area they are struggling with so I can prepare to the best of my ability to help uncover the problem they are running into and how to solve it. I am a PhD student getting his degree in Biomedical Engineering so I have been exposed to numerous different fields, and as a PhD student have taught a vast number of students. That has led me to try and find the best ways to teach each and every individual. I specialize in STEM subjects ranging from middle school all the way to entry level undergrad courses and some more advanced ones depending on the subject.
