About Marc
This is a tricky bit to write if you find that the labels we give and stories we tell can be quite sticky, and sometimes limiting (“I’m not good at languages” being the most relevant example). So I'll keep it professional.
Teaching around maths, languages and the learning process has increasingly become my main area of professional focus over the last 10 years or so, to the point where I now run mobile education platform Curiosity Workshops. I do this at various levels, with vast experience in early years; SEN; and great success for 11+ exams. I also work with adults looking for professional support or a fresh approach.
Outside of teaching, my professional career featured insights, communication and collaboration at their core: from Senior Insights Manager at a global media agency; to founding community connections organisation Hackney Roots.
Community action raises many challenges, and after leading the organisation of a weekend festival of collective action, called The re:generation Project, one in particular stood out. How can there be such differing perspectives, and yet such certainty behind each one?
I became more interested in the fields of knowledge and their limitations. With that came a greater emphasis on teaching. I began working with several agencies (currently Enjoy Education and UK Study Centre); as well as working as SEN teaching assistant at Thomas Tallis school; and as working as the Lead Activities Coordinator for MYL Kids Club.
Experience has allowed me to work more independently, with a focus on developing understandings that go beyond passing tests, towards building foundations for future learning, life skills and finding passions.
Some of the most satisfying work involves revealing and navigating barriers to learning, in any particular subject and more broadly. I am looking to reach out to people who are interested in fresh approach to teaching, including through my mobile education platform (concealed information) If any of this interests you, I’d love to hear from you.

Developing strong learning foundations includes getting familiar with the tools and materials to hand - including the nature, design and evolution of words and the frameworks they operate in. Facilitating these insights in an engaging and relevant way is the challenge, with an emphasis on discovering and nurturing the passions of the student, and providing opportunities for them to ‘see’ and explore for themselves. I currently run mobile education project (concealed information) and consider learning to be a communal process.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I am happy to provide a reference for Marc's excellent work with Eddie and Tom. Marc worked primarily with Eddie on his French in preparation for his 13+ Common Entrance for Merchant Taylors' School, helping to spark Eddie's passion for languages, and to pass the exams with confidence. Marc also helped our younger son Tom through his challenges with Maths at school. The boys loved having Marc as their tutor as the classes were fun, relevant and effective, and I highly recommend Marc for such work in the future.

Tuition Classes can vary according to the requirements of the students. I prefer in-person but online can work well, while I’m typically working one-on-one but also do group sessions (amongst friends for example). All ages welcome - it’s never too late to have a solid foundations for arithmetic, or a fresh take on learning languages. As a newcomer to Superprof, my prices here are greatly reduced from those on my website (concealed information) where you can find out more about me and my approach to teaching.
