About Edison

I have over 20 years of tutoring experience and have built a strong reputation for providing effective, engaging, and student-focused instruction. Throughout my tutoring career, I have maintained positive relationships with both students and parents, with no formal complaints regarding my teaching services. I am also proud that many of my former students have gone on to pursue and complete their degrees at prestigious institutions such as the University of the Philippines Diliman and Ateneo de Manila University.

I take a goal-oriented and focused approach to tutoring, tailoring my teaching methods to each student’s learning style, needs, and academic objectives. While I place a strong emphasis on developing solid mathematical skills and achieving measurable results, I also believe that learning Mathematics should be enjoyable and encouraging. My goal is not only to help students improve their academic performance, but also to build their confidence and develop a positive attitude toward Mathematics.

My Teaching Methods and Techniques

I believe that mathematical skills, like any other skill, can be developed and strengthened through consistent practice, patience, and the right mindset. With proper guidance and encouragement, I believe every student has the potential to improve and excel in Mathematics. My approach focuses not only on solving problems correctly, but also on helping students understand the reasoning behind each solution. Most importantly, I aim to help students develop confidence in their abilities and, hopefully, learn to appreciate and even love Mathematics as much as I do.

My Typical Lesson Plan

I typically begin each session with a short assessment or pop quiz designed to gauge the student's current level of understanding. The questions are carefully chosen to be challenging enough to identify areas of strength and areas that may need improvement, without making the student feel overwhelmed. Based on the results, I adjust the pace, difficulty, and focus of the lesson to ensure that the session is suited to the student's individual needs.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor

My genuine passion for Mathematics is one of the qualities that sets me apart as a tutor. I have enjoyed Mathematics for as long as I can remember, particularly the process of analyzing problems, finding solutions, and discovering efficient ways to arrive at the correct answer. I bring that same enthusiasm into my teaching.

For me, tutoring is more than simply helping a student get the right answer. I find great fulfillment in seeing the moment when a difficult concept finally becomes clear to a student—the moment when confusion turns into understanding and confidence. That is what motivates me to continue teaching and helping students reach their full potential.

Who My Lessons Are For

My lessons are designed primarily for Elementary and High School students who need additional support in learning, understanding, and excelling in Mathematics. I work with students at different levels of ability, whether they need help strengthening their fundamentals, keeping up with their school lessons, preparing for assessments, or developing greater confidence in solving mathematical problems.

My goal is to meet each student where they are and provide the guidance, practice, and encouragement they need to progress at their own pace.
