About Chantel Singh
I’m a Biomedical Sciences graduate currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Anatomy at Wits University, where I also work as a Teaching Assistant. Through my studies and teaching experience, I’ve developed a strong interest in Biology, Cellular Biology, Anatomy, and the way scientific concepts can be applied to understand the human body and disease.
My interest in teaching comes from genuinely enjoying the process of helping others understand concepts that initially seem difficult or overwhelming. As a Teaching Assistant, I’ve had the opportunity to support students academically and see how much of a difference clear explanations, patience, and encouragement can make.
I believe that struggling with a subject doesn’t mean you’re incapable of learning it. Sometimes, you simply need the concept explained in a way that makes sense to you. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and working through challenging topics at their own pace.
Alongside subject-specific tutoring, I can also support university students with scientific reading, research papers, and academic writing, drawing from my own experience in research and postgraduate study.
Ultimately, I want to help students not only improve their marks, but also develop confidence, curiosity, and a genuine understanding of the science they’re learning.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s level, learning style, and academic goals. I aim to make Biology, Cellular Biology, and Anatomy easier to understand by breaking complex topics down into clear, manageable concepts.
We can work through difficult topics, revise class material, practise questions, prepare for tests and exams, or focus on areas where the student needs additional support. I encourage students to ask questions and actively work through concepts rather than simply memorising information.
For university students, I can also provide support with histological analyses as well as scientific and research writing. Students can submit their written work for feedback, and I can assess the structure, clarity, scientific reasoning, use of evidence, and overall presentation. I can highlight areas for improvement and explain how to strengthen their work while helping them develop their own academic writing skills.
Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an assessment, or looking to strengthen your academic and research skills, lessons are paced according to your needs and focused on building understanding, confidence, and independent learning skills.
