About Matt
Hi, my name is Matt Nash and I am a final-year Business Management and Entrepreneurship student at the University of Portsmouth!
I have always been passionate about learning new things, inside and outside my education journey. I attended a public school in Guildford for my GCSEs (B-C), and for my A-Levels (A-C), I successfully joined the sixth form at the same school, during this time I decided I wanted to do better than I had done in my GCSEs, and from there I took on a whole new outlook to education, it is more than just something you have to do, but an opportunity to be a more interesting and successful person.
Throughout my 3 and a bit years at University so far, I have been committed to making the experience as full as possible, taking part in multiple volunteering and event management experiences as well as attending guest lectures from companies such as O2 and Starling Bank. I am sure to attend as many extra-curricular events as I can to allow myself to widen my knowledge base and take away some interesting facts and new ideas.
One of these events I attended got me face-to-face with my placement employer, Siemens, an engineering and technology company. During this year I was working as a business and IT-Consultant, teaching and guiding my clients on the tech and software available to them in the workplace and promoting SIemens IT using relevant business tools, all while utilising the learning platforms to learn more myself.
Outside of my studies, I am active and a big fan of travelling and planning my next adventure, I love playing games on my PC with my friends and messing around with any new technology I can get my hands on.

Being a 'visual learner', I look to engage myself and the people I am teaching when learning something new. Having prepared materials on a particular topic helps keep the lesson exciting and practical.
I like to teach by working through a topic and completing a quick exercise to test and apply to understanding and providing additional (optional) reading or excersies to supplement the learning.
I aim to do a lesson between 45 - 90 minutes, depending on the complexity and individual learning style.
I am a beginner in one-to-one teaching, however, having worked in many 'consultancy' and teaching-oriented roles in my work (year in industry + retail specialist) I have developed my communication and level of understanding to explain my interests with good detail.
My lessons are aimed at GSCE, A-Level and first-year University students, I can help higher-level students improve their working style and knowledge base or help students aiming to achieve higher grades by working closely with their assessment criteria.
