About James
I am a 26-year-old Business Studies educator with 5 years of teaching experience in the UK. I have a First-Class Honours degree in Business Management and Accounting & Finance, a PGCE in Business Studies and an MA in Education, giving me a strong combination of academic knowledge, subject expertise and classroom experience.
I chose teaching because I genuinely enjoy supporting students throughout their academic journey and seeing the progress they make over time. What I find most rewarding is helping students overcome challenges, build confidence and realise that they are capable of achieving more than they initially thought.
I particularly enjoy supporting students who may lack confidence in their ability or feel that they are struggling to make progress. Seeing that change - whether through improved understanding, greater confidence or significant improvements in grades - is what motivates me as an educator.
I aim to build positive relationships with my students while maintaining a professional approach and high expectations. Ultimately, I want every student to feel that they are making progress, developing their confidence and moving closer to achieving the results they are capable of.

I use a pupil-centred and adaptive approach to meet the individual learning needs, abilities and goals of each student. My teaching combines clear explanations, questioning, discussion, real-world business examples, active learning, mastery sessions and exam-style practice to develop understanding, confidence and exam performance.
I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Business Management and Accounting & Finance, a PGCE in Business Studies and an MA in Education, alongside 5 years of UK teaching experience. I have extensive experience supporting GCSE and A Level Business Studies students and have delivered mastery sessions at one of the UK’s largest school sites, directly supporting students to strengthen their knowledge, address misconceptions and improve their grades.
My teaching has supported students in making significant academic progress, including A Level students moving from a U to a B and from a C to an A*, as well as GCSE students progressing from Grade 1 to Grade 5 and Grade 4 to Grade 9.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are tailored to each student’s age, level and areas for development. I place particular emphasis on subject knowledge, application, analytical and evaluative skills, and effective exam technique, helping students become confident and independent learners. Lessons are available online worldwide.
