About Harriet
I recently graduated from Cambridge University with a First in Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion, and have experience tutoring for the Oxbridge Admissions process. This includes working closely with students on their personal statements and recommending any relevant reading material. Having passed three interviews during my own application to study at Cambridge, I have a thorough understanding of how best to prepare; I encourage my students to become accustomed to vocalizing their thought processes and opinions on certain topics, alongside running mock interviews with feedback on how to improve.
I am enthusiastic about helping each student fulfill their true academic potential and ensure my approach is tailored to each individual's needs. I achieved A*A*A* at A-Level and can help students improve their understanding, essay writing skills and exam technique.

I was Harriet’s Director of Studies at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, which means that I oversaw her academic progress in the College, as well as the modules she took and the tuition she received. I also taught her one-on-one, for two of the Philosophy of Religion modules she has studied in her course. In the time that I have worked with her she has proven herself to be an eloquent, intelligent, organised, and industrious student.
Her exam results for her first two years of study included some excellent performances: averaging a very high 2:i overall, she also achieved good first class results in a cluster of modules, including work in the history of Christianity, Philosophy and Ethics, and Literature. Last year, Harriet was awarded the Robert Johnson Scholarship by the College for placing among the top 20% of students in her year. This year, she achieved a 1st class result in her degree overall: a splendid achievement.
In the papers that Harriet has achieved high marks, her supervisors have described her as producing well-argued, well-structured and detailed essays, and as being a thoughtful, perceptive and wide-ranging thinker.
She also stands out among her peers for her ambitious record of pairing a commitment to her studies with a score of extra-curricular activities. That she has produced good results alongside these commitments is testament, no doubt, to her hard work and determination. In her second year (in which she earned her scholarship) she was on the Varsity dance team, was a member of the Corpus Christi College Choir, a member of the College Boat Club, and took on responsibility for helping to administrate the College Gym. Early in her third year she was elected President of the June Event, and has therefore not only had to lead the planning of a large-scale entertainment event, but has also had to oversee the cancellation of plans and the dismantling of structures in the light of the COVID-19 crisis this year.View more recommendations
