Oxbridge application coaching focusing on personal statements and research proposals. In each lesson we will target your specific structural patterns and help you present your unique intellectual interests authentically.
We will have a free initial consultation to understand your goals and learning style.
Lesson plans will be tailored to each student.
General structure:
Initial Session (Free Consultation)
- Understand your goals, learning style, schedule, and current stage of application.
- Discuss your subject, course interests, and initial ideas.
- Agree on personalised lesson plan (sent to you in writing) following this session.
Subsequent Lesson Format (Duration of lessons defined in initial lesson plan):
1. Progress Review – each lesson we will begin by assessing what's improved since last session
2. Close Reading– identify structural patterns and content gaps in your statement/proposal
3. Targeted Development – each lesson identify 2-3 key standout areas (e.g., opening impact, authentic voice, positioning yourself as a candidate) which crop up.
4. Creative Positioning – brainstorm how to present your unique intellectual interests and experiences in a way that stands out.
Core Focus Areas:
- Personal Statements:Punchy openings, clear thematic structure (4-5 well-developed paragraphs), genuine personality without generic language, demonstrating intellectual depth and your ability to thrive at Oxbridge.
- Research Proposals: Clear research question articulation, originality of approach, subject mastery, realistic methodology.
- Word Count Optimisation: Making every sentence count—cutting filler, strengthening arguments, showing enthusiasm.
