About James

I am currently the Head Boy of the Grammar School at Leeds in Year 13 going to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge. I have always been described as a friendly and approachable person and work well with children. Having been through the entire education process myself I can relate to many of the experiences and struggles and I am keen to share all I have learnt over the years. I keep myself busy outside the classroom playing football and tennis competitively alongside playing Piano and Trumpet in bands and orchestras.

About the lesson

The way I teach is dependent on the individual student but I always have the maximisation of the student's potential/grades in mind. The key to my success throughout education which I employ in my teaching technique is to first build a strong foundation in the subject area and then consolidate this knowledge with practice questions similar to those that will appear in the exam. I aspire to guide my students to obtaining the right answer with minimal intervention so that they themselves can understand the methodology and go on to apply it easily elsewhere. I have experience as a tutor working at KUMON teaching Maths and English to children from ages 4-15 and can provide stimulating material for all levels. Can provide tutoring and material for Olympiad level/ UKMT maths as I have had lots of personal success achieving Gold certificates and progressing to subsequent rounds.
