About Mia
Singing is the only way I know how to process the world around me. My career started simply by listening to records in my bedroom until the needle wore out.
Having 13 years of performing and teaching gives me a unique perspective on the human voice. I have coached 173 students through the frustration of finding their authentic sound.
Working with hobbyists and advanced learners alike keeps my perspective fresh. Self-taught players often come to me looking for a bit more structural integrity in their vocal placement. I enjoy helping working professionals find time to hone their craft amidst a busy schedule. This is just how it goes.

Sometimes the biggest hurdle is just feeling comfortable when you are singing in front of a microphone. It is easy to feel stuck when you do not know how your voice actually moves between registers. I like to focus on belting technique and the nuances between your head and chest voice to ensure you feel secure in every part of your range. My lessons revolve around a personalized song list built around each student's range, which makes the hard work of vocal training feel much more natural and relevant to your own taste.
Whether we are drilling harmony singing or preparing for an upcoming exam, I draw on my background from Musicians Institute Hollywood to keep the technical side of things manageable. I want to make sure your voice feels like an instrument you can trust when you finally step up to sing your favorite songs.
