About Silvia

I am passionate about foreign languages, I speak 4 languages fluently and on a daily basis: Roumanian, English, Italian and French. Thanks to my private English teacher, since I was 6 years old, I lived all my childhood and adolecence in a bilingual world: Romanian-English.
Then I lived for 10 years in Italy (Catanie, Sicily) where I learnt Italian and began my English teaching career.

I've been an English teacher for 7 years and a Cambridge oral examiner with experience in Italy and France. I qualified as a ESL teacher in 2011 taking CELTA (Cambridge University) and Extension at CELTA for children and ever since I have taught general English courses, business English, Cambridge exam preparation, IELTS, TOEIC.

I have also taken a IH BET course (International House Business English teaching course), in order to specialise in the business language and methodology.

I taught in children summer camps in Oxford, England and Catania, Italy.

About the lesson

The first lesson is dedicated to getting to know you well, understanding your English level through a conversation or a short quiz and finding out your objectives, interests and prefered way of learning. This helps me tailor the lessons to your particular needs.

I give courses to all levels: from beginner to advanced.

I tailor my lessons depending on your aims: general English, conversation, grammar work, exam preparation or help with school homework.

I use written resources, as well as audio, videos, songs, and authentic materials, like magazines or newspapers.

I generally give homework (if your time allows) in order to consolidate the work we do during lesson time.

In order to see fast progress and visible results, I recommend my students to book 2 hours a week. Doubled with some homework, you will maximise your money and effort!

I am available on Fridays all day!
