About Daniel

Hello! My name is Daniel Tichota! Let me start off by saying first and foremost, I love to bake, enjoy math and American history, and wish I could live in the land of Narnia. A strange combination, right? My background is a Bachelor's in Pastoral Ministry and Church History, Master's in Human Resources, and Master's in Secondary Teaching from Oakland City University. I currently work as a 6th grade Math teacher, but have also taught both 7th and 8th grade Math and Science. However, don't confuse all these degrees and classes with boredom. My style of teaching is based on repetition, based on repetition, based on repetition...and humor. Trust me, I know way too many dad jokes. All kidding aside, I also work to bring in a means of kinesthetic learning and games that can allow the student to have a method for remembering their instruction and have fun in the process. My background in teaching comes from years working in the children's and tween programs in Church, both teaching pre-written lessons as well as writing my own. I have authored 5 books already, and am working on the next in my spare time. I have a wife, 4 children, two dogs, and a cat. I have tutored my older children and have spent time homeschooling my youngers also. Altogether I have tutored children in Bible, math, history, and writing skills.

About the lesson

Willing to assist with classroom homework or give extra assistance so your child can get ahead. Work via repetition with a dose of humor. My main goal is to help build confidence in the student that they can use both inside and outside the classroom. As one who has suffered with dyslexia, I also can offer suggestions that students can use to overcome this learning challenge.
