About Rose
I am an ethics compliance consultant and local arts organization manager. Despite this, I choose to keep a small client base of students because I have a deep passion for education. I have degrees in Astrophysics, Elementary Education, and Digital arts/New media studies. I have been tutoring professionally for 12 years, within schools and on my own. My longest client stayed with me for 6 years.

I was not the kid who passed college classes with flying colors. I read the textbooks and I got help from my classmates hoping to understand what I had been missing, but got nowhere.
Then, I stumbled into a peer tutoring program. They showed me that the problem was not with my brain, but with the way that STEM classes are traditionally taught. They helped me understand the process and principles of physics, instead of just the equations. I went on to finish my BS in astrophysics, to get a degree as a science educator, and to tutor for students of all ages since then.
I am here for the students who feel left out, who wonder if they will ever be able to get through high school or pass college.
In my 12 years of teaching, I've learned from my colleagues and students - I build personal lesson plans with a focus on connecting concepts you are learning into the rest of your life. Learning should not feel like a walk to the gallows. It should feel like a challenge you don't want to turn down.
